Canadian Immigration Program-understand Canadian immigration laws and regulations, and learn ways to apply for a visa before immigrating

An immigrant visa is a document issued by the Canadian government that allows a person to travel to Canada and apply to become a lawful permanent resident. Usually, people who want to move to Canada apply for an immigrant visa permanently. A visa is a permit to enter Canada indefinitely, which can be based on work, family relationships, business investment or other relationships with Canada.

Different ways to apply for an immigrant visa

(1) Ordinary refugees (political asylum)

If the applicant is concerned about persecution because of his religion, race, nationality, social group or political affiliation, he can apply for political asylum in Canada. If a person can prove that he cannot return to his country or cannot obtain protection from his country, then he is likely to successfully obtain an immigrant visa.

(2) Informal caregiver (nanny or family help)

The purpose of the plan is to fill the shortage of domestic workers in Canada. According to the plan, a work permit can be obtained through the following process:

  • Get job opportunities from potential employers in Canada
Employers must apply for sponsorship approval in Canada.
  • After the sponsorship is approved, the applicant must apply for a work permit from the Canadian Immigration Service.
  • This application can be submitted by the applicant in Canada or abroad.
  • Issue a work permit to the applicant, valid for two years. After that, a person can apply for permanent immigration to Canada.

There are three types of corporate immigration in Canada:

  • Investors
  • Entrepreneur
  • Own boss

Family Sponsorship Program

Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada can sponsor a spouse, civil partner, spouse, dependent children or other qualified family members, such as parents or grandparents, to become permanent residents.

Federal Skilled Worker Program

Applicants under this program must have management, professional, technical or qualified work experience according to the Canadian National Occupation Classification.

Provincial Nominal Plan

Green map of Canada

Canadian green card is a metaphorical term used to describe the right of permanent residence in Canada. Instead of a Canadian green card, permanent residents of Canada are eligible to obtain a Canadian permanent resident card to prove their immigration status in Canada. Permanent resident status in Canada entitles a person to enter and reside in Canada.
